Minoru Nagata`s “Chubby Morta” is a lightweight reverse calabash pipe consisting of a large bamboo chamber, promising you a soft comfortable smoke. モルタはブライヤーに比べ、比重が軽く、かつ多孔質であるため、ボウルの大きさに比べかなり軽いパイプが出来、また多孔質がゆえに喫味がマイルドでドライとなる。 このパイプは布袋竹内がサブチャンバーとなり、より喫味はマイルドに仕上がっていると思われる。 逆にタバコのストレートな味をお好みの方には不向きな構造と言える。 デザインは布袋竹の自然造形を活かすため、ボウルは敢えて直線を基調とした。製作には旋盤などは使用せずハンドメイドに拘った。 ステムとシャンクの接合部は直角とせず、斜め継にしたのは、少しのお遊び、色気と感じて頂ければ幸いである。
