Mr. Talbert calls this pipe a “Half Churchwarden”. It has the elegance and the cool smoking function of a churchwarden without the awkwardness of a very long pipe.

This is a very lightweight piece that offers a deep bowl for the smoker.

What caught our eye at tobaccopipesjapan.com is the combination of a beautiful, smokey grain and the beautiful patina coloration from the top circumference of the bowl. According to Trever, it took a very long time to create.

To quote Mr. Talbert:

“Essentially, the grain of the wood is darkened in a gradient from the rim down.  Unlike airbrushing stain around the rim, the darker contrast is actually in the grain itself, with the wood grain becoming gradually less contrasted and less dark as it transitions down the bowl from the deep black/red of the rim to the golden yellow of the lower bowl and shank.  It’s a striking effect, and unlike accomplishing this with stain, it won’t rub off.  It took freaking forever to finish this pipe, so there won’t be any more LBs done this way.”

Mr. Talbert added a long, stylish stem to finish this pipe.

We feel that this pipe is a masterpiece set at an affordable price.
