Minoru Nagata is well known for taking on challenging designs, and this “Twin Fig” pipe is a dare that he couldn’t resist.

This pipe has two bulbous chambers attached by a thick ligament. Lively angel hair grain wraps upwards from the base of the spheres. An exotic Wenge wood band is used to connect the golden mosaic stem to the reverse calabash chamber.

This piece must have been a difficult project using only knives, files and sandpaper.
