Despite the short size the pipe packs a magnificent visual impression.

Unlike many of Mr. Nagata’s pipes, this nose warmer is symmetrical and has a flat bottom base, giving the piece a stable placement on any surface. The symmetrical shaping helps to augment the second interesting characteristic, and that is the pipe’s grain arrangement. The bottom base and the top summit of the pipe consist of bubbly burls of bird’s-eye, while the side profile displays energetic brushes of straight grain. The dark acrylic stem presents an attractive white swirl, while a contrasting beige boxwood band marries the two sections together.

So much attention to detail from a little gem of a pipe.
