Genius is found in the quiet, subtle nuances of art and this precious gem is a perfect example of Mr. Kitahara`s brilliance.
At first glance, one can see that the pipe is ergonomically shaped with a gentle curve of the shank leading to the round bowl. Giving the piece a second look you can see that it is asymmetrically shaped in an understated way. The rim is not discernible however it is subtly implied with embroidery of Birdseye around the chamber. Thick luscious stripes of straight grain are found throughout the shank and the equatorial circumference of the bowl. As a final touch to the pipe`s handsome charm, Mr. Kitahara dressed it with a dark golden stain.
