Another masterstroke from the Kenishiro Sakurai workshop.

This cube shaped pipe is delicately sandblasted allowing the grain to present itself  as projecting soft tactual waves. Within the four panels  presented on the shank we can see the  rhythmic pulse of the grain ebbing from the stem towards the bowl.  Thin lines ring and ripple around the outside chamber gently vibrating from the base to the top of the rim.

This creation is bathed in a rich dark urushi lacquer.
