A unique delightful piece of work from Mr Nagata.
The pipe has a sylish rusticated look reflecting an earthy Japanese aesthetic. The cone shaped bowl has a tooth like profile. Tight birdseye is found from the base point and modulates into energetic fine vertical grain projecting a starburst image when looking at the bottom. The front side of the bowl is flattened allowing the user to stand the pipe in an upright position. From the top view one can see that the wide rim has been blackened and speckled with pebble like appearances of clean birdseye. A long bamboo shank connects the bowl to a large band of briar that proudly displays Mr Nagata’s family name in Kanji. Great work Mr Nagata !
